Born Primitive is proud to support the following charities. We are extremely grateful to those who serve or have served this great nation (especially our fellow military, firefighters, police, and first responders). We hold a special place for those who have made the ultimate sacrifice while downrange or in the line of duty. Lest we forget.
The Navy SEAL Foundation provides immediate and ongoing support and assistance to the Naval Special Warfare Community and its families, including a comprehensive set of programs specifically designed to reduce the stressors associated with the tremendous amount of uncertainty and pressure that comes with life in Naval Special Warfare (NSW). Since the 9/11 terrorist attacks, there has been an unprecedented demand for Special Operations Forces around the globe. SEALs spend up to 270 days away from home each year in the most unforgiving environments and training at an unrelenting pace in order to maintain their ability to execute our nation’s toughest military missions. Their commitment to our country and the mission is only possible because of the significant personal sacrifices made by their families. The Foundation focuses on a comprehensive set of programs designed to improve health and welfare, build and enhance resiliency, empower and educate their families, and provide critical support during times of illness, injury, and loss.
The goal of 5-5-5 Firefighter Fitness is to have a tangible effect on the reduction of line of duty deaths among firefighters by encouraging them to workout and providing needed fitness equipment to firehouses. Historically, approximately 50% of firefighter fatalities can be attributed to cardiac related events. Therefore, workouts are provided, for free, that are geared toward the rigors of the firefighting profession. Additionally, their Strength is Our Foundation grant program provides necessary fitness equipment to firehouses across the country who earn the grant.
Each year, between 140 and 160 officers are killed in the line of duty, and their families and co-workers are left to cope with the tragic loss. C.O.P.S. provides direct resources to help them rebuild their shattered lives. It has over 50 Chapters nationwide that work with survivors at the grass-roots level, including various programs for our fallen hero’s spouses, children, parents, coworkers, and extended family. These programs include academic scholarships, “C.O.P.S. Kids” Summer Camp, counseling programs, special retreats, trial and parole support, and so much more. C.O.P.S. also offers direct training and assistance to law enforcement agencies nationwide on how to respond to the tragic loss of a member of the law enforcement profession. C.O.P.S. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and its programs and services are funded by grants and donations.
